1. Lighting
Can viewers see the point?
- Is the main light in front of your face instead of behind you?
- Can viewers see your face/product clearly without heavy shadows?
- Does the same phone look better when you move the light?
First boring fix: move the light in front of you or add a simple ring light / desk light before buying a new camera.
2. Audio
Can viewers hear it cleanly?
- Is the mic close enough to your mouth or demo area?
- Is room echo making the clip feel cheap?
- Can viewers understand you without turning volume up?
First boring fix: move the mic closer or use a basic lav mic for tutorials and demos.
3. Background
Does the frame feel intentional?
- Is the visible frame clean enough to trust?
- Are there distracting objects behind the main subject?
- Does the background match the creator/operator you want to look like?
First boring fix: clear only what the camera sees. Do not redesign the whole room.
4. Cables
Is the desk chaos showing?
- Are cables visible in the shot?
- Do cables slow you down before filming?
- Does the desk look more chaotic than the content needs?
First boring fix: bundle visible cables and remove the ones that are not part of the shot.
5. Workflow
Does setup friction kill the clip?
- Can you film without hunting for a charger?
- Can you move footage without rearranging the desk?
- Do laptop ports/dongles interrupt the workflow?
First boring fix: use one charging spot and one hub/dock area so setup friction does not kill the clip.
Score
Add the five scores
0-3: fix the setup before asking the algorithm for mercy.
4-6: one or two boring leaks are probably dragging the content down.
7-10: good enough to publish tests; improve based on watch time/comments.
